How do you make the construction of a new building sustainable? Viegand Maagøe has helped the entrepreneur TL Byg with creating sustainable construction sites.
How we completed the assignment
TL Byg is a big entrepreneur in North Jutland with a vision of becoming more sustainable. Viegand Maagøe has mapped two of TL By’s construction sites and examined:
- Processes
- Waste management
- Usage of materials
- The setup of the construction site
We used the mapping to determine possible actions towards creating both CO2 reductions as well as economic savings on all TL Byg’s construction sites while also quantifying the effects of said actions. Finally, we made a green business model for TL Byg.
The work was done as a part of the Networking for a Sustainable Business Development Norddanmark’s (NBE) project “Sustainable growth through energy and resource effective SMEs”.

The green business model showed that energy and waste optimization in TL Byg’s construction sites can give remarkable savings.
