plastikviden plastik nationale plastikcenter

New website for The National Plastic Center

Reference: The Danish Environmental Protection Agency

How does the government inform about plastic to many different target audiences on the same platform? With a platform as a source of knowledge through which the target group can navigate with the help of the plastic’s life cycle.

Viegand Maagøe has built plastikviden.dk for The Danish Environmental Protection Agency.

How we completed the assignment

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency wished for a platform which had all information about plastic in one place for citizens and some target groups from the public sector and businesses. Besides from that the platform should primarily work as a channel for the newly established National Plastic Center.

Viegand Maagøe developed the concept for plastikviden.dk and built the site in 2 to 3 months in collaboration with The Danish Environmental Protection Agency.

The technical setup of the website was the first step in the project. The following steps focused on the management of content and the expansion of the website.

Results

Plastikviden.dk comes off as a serious website for knowledge about plastic. A big wheel works as a user-friendly navigation as well as an element of knowledge which demonstrates how all parts of the plastic’s life cycle has an impact on sustainable plastic usage.

The website was launched March 4th, 2020. Several user tests have proven that the users understand the life cycle wheel and many actors and stakeholders interested in plastic in Denmark have good thoughts about the website.

The website’s structure ensures that in upcoming years The Danish Environmental Protection Agency can expand the amount of content and functions without the users losing a sense of what is there.

What type of plastic are you?

10 questions about plastic habits shows what type of plastic the users are. The test is incredibly popular and we use it to help the users get on the website and give them focused recommendations to relevant pages and content.
