How do you most effectively inform about energy check-ups in big companies? With a simple and user-friendly guide.

Viegand Maagøe has helped The Danish Energy Agency to cut their guide about energy check-ups down to one simple guide instead of seven documents aimed at three different target audiences.

The Danish Energy Agency wished to cut down a range of documents detailing energy check-ups to one collective guide in order to i.a. help companies that are obligated to energy check-ups.

How one simple guide came about

Viegand Maagøe gave the assignment to a little group of three which consisted of an energy check-up expert, a communications consultant and a graphic designer.

There were multiple challenges in the assignment:

  • Ensuring a concise dissemination for readers with different motivations
  • Combining documents with partially overlapping information to different target audiences in a way that makes sense for everyone
  • Making the information in a logical order

The expert went through the existing documents and wrote raw text for the guide from a ”What does the company need to know first off?”. The communications consultant went through the material and made one simple and user-friendly guide. Then the graphic designer made a layout based on the client’s wishes and design manual for the guide.

A simple guide right on time

The guide was ready on time. The product is a simple and holistic guide in energy check-ups.

7 documents become 1

on the website of The Danish Energy Agency.

With a new guide, all target audiences can use the same document. The companies do not have to look for necessary information in illogical places.

The Danish Energy Agency therefore delivers a better guide for the companies and thus expects less questions and enquiries by email and phone.
