COP26: Upscale energy efficiency financing and overcome the investment gap

Many financial institutions, asset managers, and pension funds are signing up to voluntary sector-based initiatives on decarbonisation of their portfolio. Furthermore the EU taxonomy on sustainable finance will require them to report against this.
When they look at their portfolios and think about decarbonisation towards 2030 and 2050, a good place to start is the real estate portfolio where they can combine business making in terms of additional lending for energy renovations with asset improvements.
