A green transition of society is the core of our values and in our daily work. For instance, we buy CO2 neutral electricity, we bike to meetings, we have plenty of vegetarian and vegan food alternatives for lunch, and we serve tap water instead of bottled water.
Our climate action
Viegand Maagøe’s climate goals are a part of Science Based Targets initiative.
We accelerate the green transition for our clients – but also for ourselves.
As the first green consultant in Denmark, our climate goals have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
We have targets in Scope 1, 2 and 3
Viegand Maagøe’s Climate Goals:
- Scope 1 and 2: 50 % reduction of our climate footprint in 2030
- Scope 3: 30 % reduction of our climate footprint pr. employee in 2030
Our goals in Scope 1 and 2 are a part of SBTi, while our Scope 3-goals go above the SBTi-obligation.
We contribute by (among other things):
- Promoting circular economy
We advise on circular products and services. For instance, we have helped to up-cycle Danish plastic waste from consumers so it can replace new plastic in high value products – and be recycled up to 10 times. - Optimize the use of resources in production
We help costumers make better use of their resources. For instance, we have helped a business to exploit energy which was previously lost in a wet cooling tower, thus saving water and chemicals. - Considering the whole life cycle
We calculate total costs showing the advantages to resource effective products. For instance, we have shown that low operating costs make it attractive to buy energy efficient computers even when they have a higher purchase price.
We contribute by (among other things):
- Saving energy in industry
We improve competetiveness for our costumers by optimizing their energy consumption. For instance we have helped Arla save 55 % gas and 15 % electricity in their factory in Nørre Vium, Denmark. - Developing EU’s energy demands
We develop an important part of the foundation for EU’s ecodesign and energy label legislation. This entails enormous energy savings which in 2020 are equal to the annual energy consumption of Italy. - Communicating advice on saving energy
For the Danish Energy Agency we spread tips, advice and guides on how to save energy to consumers, businesses and authorities.
