Viegand Maagøe has developed a carbon calculator and mapped Scope 3 for LTP Group. This makes it possible to view the overall climate footprint and deliver detailed, transparent CO2 documentation to customers.
LTP Group is a large company with locations in, among others, Lithuania, Vietnam, and Mexico, that produces apparel and furniture.
As part of their sustainability strategy, LTP Group wanted to develop an automatic Carbon Calculator for the furniture division and map Scope 3 for the entire company.
However, the data was incomplete and lived across different IT systems.
Viegand Maagøe developed a tailor-made Carbon Calculator based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Product Standard. The calculator was designed to retrieve bill of materials and activity data directly from LTP's ERP system, Navision.
The calculations are done in real time in the Qlik platform, which both LTP and their customers have access to.
The project was characterized by collaboration:
Viegand Maagøe's team was responsible for the calculation formulas, all emission data and quality assurance, while the implementation in the Qlik platform and the extraction from Navision was carried out by LTP's own IT department.

Efficient Scope 3 mapping
Viegand Maagøe also carried out a complete Scope 3 mapping for the entire LTP Group.
The mapping included emissions from all 15 relevant categories, such as procurement, transport, waste and employee commuting.
There was a great synergy between the tasks, as a lot of data from the Scope 3 mapping could also be used in the Carbon Calculator. It made the process more efficient and accurate.
Calculations include a number of key parameters, including:

To make the Carbon Calculator effective, LTP's 38,000 unique components were aggregated into approximately 250 categories based on their tariff codes. Each category was assigned average emission factors, which took into account, among other things, the share of recycled material. This makes it easy to update calculations when new data or materials are added.
The new Carbon Calculator provides transparent climate data in real time and can be used by both LTP Group and their customers. It meets both internal and external requirements for sustainability and transparency:
