LCA (life cycle assessment)
Gain an overview of your products’ climate and environmental impact with an LCA. We assist with calculations, interpretation, and documentation.
Get the Full Picture with an LCA
An LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) is a method for assessing the environmental impact of a product or service throughout its entire life cycle – from raw materials to disposal. There are many types of LCAs, varying in scope and level of detail. Together, we’ll determine which approach best suits your needs.
An LCA can help you
- Optimise your product or service to reduce environmental impact, including CO₂ emissions in scope 3
- Make more sustainable decisions by choosing solutions with the lowest environmental footprint
- Map resource consumption and document the “cost” of a product across environmental parameters, including climate impact
- Ensure credible communication and avoid greenwashing
- Compare products or production methods to identify the most sustainable option.
The process
An LCA can take several forms depending on purpose and product type. We carry out the LCA modelling using our in-house tools based on Ecoinvent and industry-specific databases. Regardless of the standard applied, the process typically looks like this:
LCA comes in many forms
A life cycle assessment is not one-size-fits-all. Its scope and level of detail depend on your needs and how you plan to use the results.
We can carry out climate and environmental impact assessments and offer advice on everything from screenings and PCF analyses to full ISO-, LCA-, and PEF-compliant studies – and everything in between.
We’ll work with you to find the approach that fits best.
Examples of LCA types:
- LCA
The most comprehensive method, analysing a product’s or service’s impact across the full life cycle. - LCA Screening
A simplified version, often based on broader assumptions and with lighter reporting requirements. - PEF (Product Environmental Footprint)
An EU-standardised LCA method that ensures comparability across products and industries. - PCF (Product Carbon Footprint)
An LCA-based method that focuses exclusively on calculating a product’s CO₂ footprint. - EPD (Environmental Product Declaration)
Also known as an environmental product declaration. An EU-standardised LCA method for construction products.

LCA Integrated with ERP
We also work on integrating LCA thinking and automatically generated CO₂ footprints into companies’ existing ERP systems. Our solutions make it easy to update emission factors and add supplier-specific data on raw materials, ensuring calculations always reflect reality.
With integration into your ERP system, CO₂ data can be printed directly on your customer invoices.
This gives you and your customers access to accurate and transparent scope 3 data that can be used directly in climate accounts and as documentation of environmental action.
It also makes it easier to identify products and areas with the greatest reduction potential – and quickly update your calculations when production or energy use changes.
