New website for The National Plastic Center
How does the government inform about plastic to many different target audiences on the same platform? With a platform as a source of knowledge through which the target group can navigate with the help of the plastic’s life cycle. We built a website for The Danish Environmental Protection Agency.
The task
The Danish Environmental Protection Agency wished for a platform which had all information about plastic in one place for citizens and some target groups from the public sector and businesses. Besides from that the platform should primarily work as a channel for the newly established National Plastic Center.
Results
The site had a large life cycle wheel on the front page that functioned both as a user-friendly navigation element and as a knowledge element that showed how all parts of the plastic life cycle are important for the sustainable use of plastic.
The site was launched on March 4, 2020. A series of user tests showed that users understood the life cycle wheel, and the many actors and stakeholders in the plastics field in Denmark welcomed the site.
The structure of the site ensured that the Danish Environmental Protection Agency could expand the amount of content and functions in the coming years without the target group losing the overview.
